        Weekend: Depeche Mode
@ Crypto.com Arena

Depeche Mode, the iconic synth-pop band, is set to perform at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on December 15 and 17, 2023, as part of their Memento Mori Tour. This tour marks one of their first live shows in five years and is particularly significant as it’s the first one following the passing of their founding keyboard player, Andy Fletcher.

Fans can expect a mix of dark, melodramatic, and sleazy stadium-scaled electro rock along with tender pop ballads, a unique blend that Depeche Mode is renowned for. The tour also features special guests Young Fathers, adding another layer of excitement to the event.

Regarding logistics, the doors for the event will open an hour before showtime, and ticket sales are currently available. The Crypto.com Arena offers various amenities, including premium seating options and an array of dining and entertainment choices at L.A. LIVE, the neighboring entertainment district.

        Art: Stefan Brüggemann ‘’White Noise’’

“White Noise” by Stefan Brüggemann is an intriguing and thought-provoking exhibition currently showcased in Los Angeles. This is Brüggemann’s first solo exhibition in the city, presenting a collection of works created over the past two years. The exhibition is a deep dive into the intersection of information and misinformation in our consciousness and how they shape our worldview.

Brüggemann’s works are known for their textual and conceptual installations, combining elements of sculpture, video, painting, and drawing. His art often features a blend of acerbic social critique with a post-pop aesthetic. In “White Noise,” he explores themes using a variety of mediums, including multi-colored spray paint on silver leafed canvas, marble panels, and gold leaf-coated canvases. The pieces are rich in text, playing with concepts of erosion, digitization, and the aesthetics of luxury, while maintaining a punk attitude. The exhibition includes notable works like “ERODED PAINTING” series, “Headlines and Last Lines in the Movies (Writer’s Strike),” and “HI-SPEED CONTRAST” series, among others. These works reflect on contemporary society’s paradoxes using language, cultural identity, and carefully chosen materials.

The exhibition, located at Hauser & Wirth Downtown Los Angeles, is an excellent opportunity for those interested in contemporary art and the interplay between language and visual culture. It runs until January 14, 2024, offering a unique glimpse into Brüggemann’s innovative approach to artmaking
